Word of Mist is published by B1 Games, a label of Biosystems One Inc. ("we"). Biosystems One Inc. is the data controller. This policy explains exactly what the app does with data.
The short version. There is no account and no login. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts or photos. We run no analytics of our own and no servers of our own. Your progress, tokens, collection and settings stay on your device.
The exception is advertising. If ads are enabled in your copy of the app, Google serves them and receives limited device information in the process. You can remove ads permanently with a purchase.
What stays on your device
The following is stored locally, in the app's own storage, and is never sent to us:
- Your puzzle progress, scores, level, streak and Daily Quest progress
- Your Collection of uncovered photos and their star ratings
- Your balance of tokens and free hints
- Your avatar, theme, sound, music and vibration preferences
- Your best scores in online rooms
Deleting the app deletes all of it. We have no copy and no way to retrieve it.
Who else is involved
Some features rely on services we do not operate. In each case the third party receives the data under its own privacy policy, not ours.

Advertising, in detail
When ads are enabled, Word of Mist shows a banner on menu screens, an occasional full-screen ad between puzzles, and an optional rewarded video you may choose to watch in exchange for a free hint. Ads never appear over a puzzle in play. Ads are limited to content suitable for a general audience.
Tracking is your choice. After the introduction, iOS asks whether Word of Mist may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. If you allow it, Google may use your device's Advertising Identifier to show more relevant ads and measure them. If you decline, ads are not personalised with that identifier. The game works the same either way, and you can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the app asks for your advertising consent before the ad system starts, using Google's consent tool.

Removing ads. Buying "Remove Ads" or the Starter Bundle stops banner and full-screen ads permanently on any device signed in to your Apple Account. The optional reward video stays available if you want a free hint.
Crash reports
We do not run a crash reporting service of our own. If you have turned on sharing of analytics with app developers in iOS (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may send us anonymised crash reports. Apple collects those, not us, and they contain no personal information. You can turn this off in iOS at any time.
Children
Word of Mist is suitable for all ages but is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is usually nothing for us to export or delete — deleting the app achieves both. If you are in a region with data protection rights (including the EEA, the UK, California and Brazil) and you want to exercise them against us anyway, email us and we will respond within 30 days.
For data Apple or Google hold about you, contact them directly; we cannot access or delete it on your behalf.
Selling data
We do not sell personal information, and we do not work with data brokers.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and note the change in the app's release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
